- A neighborhood scavenger hunt organized for all the local kids one summer evening ended with everyone gathered on one lawn, comparing lists and arguing good-naturedly over who had technically won.
- A sudden thunderstorm rolled through right as we were setting up for the neighborhood's outdoor summer concert. And instead of canceling, everyone just squeezed under one enormous shared tent for the rest of the evening.
