  • My manager asked me to give a five-minute update at the team meeting. I ran fifteen minutes over, mostly because nobody stopped me, and I only realized halfway through slide twelve.
  • Our office had a fire drill during the exact meeting I'd spent all morning preparing for. We evacuated, stood in the parking lot for twenty minutes, and came back in to find the meeting rescheduled entirely.
  • Our department got a new espresso machine, promising to boost morale. It jammed on day two, and now there's an unofficial rotation of people who take turns pretending to fix it during meetings they'd rather skip.
  • I tried to fix the printer myself after IT said it'd take three days for a ticket. Turns out the fix was simply turning it off and on again, a fact I discovered after an embarrassingly long amount of research.
  • I offered to organize the office holiday potluck sign-up sheet, thinking it would be simple. Somehow we ended up with six desserts, one main dish, and zero side dishes for a party of twenty people.
  • Our office had a 'bring your pet to work' day for the first time. Three dogs got into a minor standoff over the same corner of the break room, and productivity dropped noticeably for the rest of the afternoon.
