- Our office decided to do a wellness challenge involving daily step goals. I was in last place for three weeks straight, right up until I discovered you could just walk laps around the parking lot at lunch.
- My manager asked me to give a five-minute update at the team meeting. I ran fifteen minutes over, mostly because nobody stopped me, and I only realized halfway through slide twelve.
- Our office had a fire drill during the exact meeting I'd spent all morning preparing for. We evacuated, stood in the parking lot for twenty minutes, and came back in to find the meeting rescheduled entirely.
- Our department got a new espresso machine, promising to boost morale. It jammed on day two, and now there's an unofficial rotation of people who take turns pretending to fix it during meetings they'd rather skip.
- I tried to fix the printer myself after IT said it'd take three days for a ticket. Turns out the fix was simply turning it off and on again, a fact I discovered after an embarrassingly long amount of research.
