- We decided to host Thanksgiving at our place for the first time. I researched turkey brining techniques for weeks. The turkey came out great. I forgot to actually turn the oven on for the side dishes until an hour before dinner.

- I finally tackled the garage this spring, determined to actually park a car in there for once. Six hours and three donation bags later, I discovered a tool set I'd bought and completely forgotten I owned.
- We planned a low-key New Year's Eve at home with the kids, expecting an early night. Somehow it turned into a full living room dance party that lasted until well past midnight, kids included.
- I decided to try composting for the first time, following an online guide closely. Two months in, I have a thriving bin of genuinely excellent soil, and a newfound respect for how complicated rotting vegetables can get.
